Manage Security Permissions

This article describes how to manage security permissions in the SysKit.

Here is what you need to do:

  1. Open the SysKit application.
  2. Navigate to the File, select Manage from the left navigation bar and click the Users and Groups button.
  3. Double-click the users whose permissions you want to change.
  4. Change the user’s role in the newly opened dialog.
  5. Edit user data - Role

  6. Select Viewers or Administrators. Viewers can only view data, admins can administrate computers and users. Click here for a more detailed description about User Roles.

Advanced role-based security

In case you want to adjust for the each viewer individually which OU’s he can monitor in the reports, do the following:

  1. Navigate to the File, select Configuration from the left navigation bar and click on the Options button.
  2. Under General > Report Options check Enable Role-based security option.
  3. General - Report Options

  4. Navigate to the File, select Manage from the left navigation bar and click the Users and Groups button.
  5. Double-click the users whose permissions you want to change.
  6. Select OU’s which this user will be able to see the reports for.
  7. Edit user data - Supervised OUs

  8. Click Apply and OK to finish.
