What is Agentic AI?

An Agentic AI is an artificial intelligence system that operates autonomously, making decisions and executing tasks with minimal human intervention.

Unlike traditional AI, which primarily assists users by providing insights, executing prompts, or automating predefined tasks, an agentic AI can analyze complex situations, adapt to changing environments, and are currently predicted to be able to proactively achieve specific goals.

Here are some basic use cases and examples of Agentic AI in action:

  • Customer support – AI agents handle inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and guide users through various processes.
  • Finance and risk management – Detects fraud, assesses risks, and initiates responses to mitigate threats.
  • Healthcare – Schedules patient appointments, monitors health data, and personalizes treatment recommendations.

Ensuring regulatory compliance is critical when deploying agentic AI. Organizations must also mitigate risks associated with information oversharing in their environments.
