Conduct centralized management of all event logs from all servers. The application will collect data, and you can filter out all events from all computers in a single place.
Configure SysKit to send alerts if the specific output—such as status code, URL, or some other data—is returned after executing the PowerShell script. For example, you can create a script that pings SharePoint site latency and availability in a certain time frame. If any of your SharePoint sites is unreachable or the response time is over ten seconds, SysKit will alert you.
Perform remote server administration by combining SysKit with PowerShell scripts. SysKit enables you to easily control your entire server environment remotely and automate common system administration tasks. Write your own scripts or import them from our side, and schedule them to run on multiple remote servers simultaneously. For each executed script, SysKit provides you with PowerShell execution log that can be exported to PDF or Excel.
Monitor and analyze your SharePoint performance in detail. Choose from an extensive list of server performance metrics and monitor all these metrics historically. Find out why page loading issues occur and whether your database is congested due to a high volume of queries. In addition to SharePoint, this feature can be used to monitor performance metrics on all server roles, including roles on Citrix XenApp, IIS, and SQL servers.
Document your complete server environment using a single console. Compare your current server configuration with configurations at different points in time to detect any modifications. Easily audit harmful and undocumented changes, such as disabled sync service or changed group policies. Generated documentation can be exported to Excel or Word so you can present it to your end client.
Create monitoring templates with custom alert thresholds and assign them to servers or logical server groups. Every template reflects the specific server role with a specific set of performance metrics relating to that server role. In other words, you can distinctly monitor your SharePoint, SQL, or Citrix servers by applying different templates to different server roles, making monitoring your server environment a whole lot easier.
Group your servers into logical server units such as DEV, QA, and Production, separating your monitoring environment into smaller fractions. This makes overall system administration and maintenance easier and safer by ensuring that you will not apply a patch that is in testing to a Production server group. Assign different servers to a custom group to perform automated tasks or generate reports only for targeted logical server units.
Monitor multiple domains through an intuitive, easy-to-use interface. All available domains are automatically discovered and ready to be monitored. You can specify credentials for each of the monitored domains, and if your domains don’t have a trust relationship with each other, you can manually add an untrusted domain by entering the domain name, domain controller, or IP address of the remote Active Directory (AD) domain controller.
The reports within the Custom Reports category now include three new reports:
- Installed Updates – This specialized report helps system administrators who want to determine whether specific update(s) are installed on monitored servers or not.
- SysKit Permissions – This report comes in handy if you want to check which users can access the SysKit application and under which permissions.
- Windows Services – This report will help you easily monitor all services that are running on your local and remote computers. The Windows Services report is a real- time report.
SysKit offers two different compare options: Inventory Snapshots and Computers.
- The first option enables you to select two inventory snapshots and explore differences between hardware and software data.
- The second option enables you to compare inventory data on different computers or two selected system environments that are defined through report views. You can define mappings between computers from different environments and determine which inventory items are different.
The Inventory Snapshots system job periodically scans monitored servers and creates a snapshot of all the hardware and software installed at that point.The reports within the Inventory Reports category have been reorganized; they now include three report subcategories and four new reports:
- Hardware (Hard Drives, Network Adapters, Processors, Printers)
- Software (Programs, Available and Installed Windows Security Updates, Services, Certificates)
- Local Users and Groups
